What data do we collect?
The Audiofic Archive collects the following data:
- Your IP Address when you use or access the archive
- Your email address, if you register an account with us or use one of our contact forms
- Any personal information you include in your public user profile or podfic posts (including special categories of personal data)
How do we collect your data?
You directly provide us with all of the data we collect. We collect and process data when you:
- Access our website
- Register an account on our website
- Create or update content on our website
- Send us emails via our website’s contact forms
How do we use your data?
The Audiofic Archive collects your data so that we can:
- Host podfics, public user profiles & podfic metadata on our website
- Email you regarding your account or when you contact us
- We need to respond to emails that you send us via our site contact forms
- We need to be able to contact you via email if you want to reset your password
- We need to be able to contact you via email if one of your podfics is in violation of our content policy and we need you to alter it/inform you that it is being taken down
- We need to collect & retain your IP address for a reasonable time in order to:
- Provide you with the content you are requesting
- Assess the load on our website for internal monitoring
- Mitigate attacks against the Audiofic Archive
How do we store your data?
The Audiofic Archive securely stores your data on our servers located in the US.
We keep account related data for as long as you have an account with us. When you delete your account, your data is removed after up to 2 months (deleting legacy works in full takes manual effort, if you have fewer legacy works this will happen a lot faster).
Other categories of data (such as IP addresses and the site you were referred to us from in our logs) are deleted 2 years after they are first collected.
What are your data protection rights?
You can request a full copy of all the data that we hold on you at any time, we agree to provide this to you in an electronic format within a reasonable amount of time.
If you are located in certain jurisdictions you have rights regarding your personal data. They may include:
- The right to know what personal information we have collected about you
- The right to request that we provide access to, correct, or delete your personal information
- The right to request that your personal information be provided in portable form
- The right to not be discriminated against for exercising your legal rights
